Title: Flash Engineer/Developer Duration: 3 to 4 months Location: NOHO Pay Rate: Open. Key areas: Not a flash designer (no creating ads, or building banners, or designing Uis, etc.). Flash engineering skill set, crossdomain communication and security best practices, solid understandings and applications of software development best practices and the SDLC, object oriented programming (OOP), application of Design Patterns and traditional software engineering approaches to Flash environments and development efforts, as well as the Web Development skill set including: JavaScript, HTML/DHTML, CSS, AJAX, Content Management Systems, site maintenance, troubleshooting, and debugging And Specific experience with Flash-based Ads and Ad delivery systems and methodologies is preferred. ------------------- POSITION SUMMARY The Senior Flash Engineer candidate will be a lead for the Flash technology platforms at Disney Online, specifically related to existing and future Ad-related efforts spanning both HTML and Flash-based sites, working to create new architectures and initiatives, update existing websites and platforms, create and enforce/maintain Flash-related standards, as well as provide technical leadership, feedback, and oversight for technical initiatives. This candidate should excel in all components of the Flash Engineering and Web Development skill sets, crossdomain communication and security best practices, solid understandings and applications of software development best practices and the SDLC, Object Oriented Programming (OOP), applying and using Design Patterns to architecture and development efforts, as well as the Web Development skill set specifically including: JavaScript, XHTML/DHTML, CSS, AJAX, Content Management Systems, site maintenance, troubleshooting, and debugging. This candidate should have experience driving technology-wide Flash, JavaScript, and Dynamic Data Delivery architectures, platform decisions, processes, provide technical oversight, as well as be able to clearly communicate technical decisions and processes. This candidate should also have expert experience in applying and using traditional Software Engineering thought process, approaches, and principles to Flash Engineering and Web Development. Specific experience with Flash-based Ads and Ad delivery systems and methodologies is preferred. The Flash Engineer will set client and business expectations related to estimates, timelines, deliverables, capabilities, and requirements. This candidate should have the ability to deliver projects successfully and on time with little oversight required. Candidates for this position are also expected to constantly improve production, delivery and development techniques, and the ability to help standardize process and improve upon them. The Flash Engineer is called upon to develop new Flash-based technologies for planned or existing sites, and to integrate technology into these sites. This candidate should have exceptional technical skills, as well as proven people and team lead skills and communication skills.
