*Description/Position Overview* Seeking a front-end web developer with a strong understanding of the flex framework as well as a passion for creating engaging, leading-edge user experiences. This person will have a strong eye for visual design and doesn’t dismiss design as merely art or decoration. They will be a creative problem solver who integrates into our user-centered process, collaborating with some of the best user experience architects, designers and component developers in the business to create holistic experiences based on user needs and desires. They combine their talent, creativity, and knowledge of the latest technical capabilities to create interfaces that are a joy to use, facilitate understanding, and enable intuitive interaction while elevating the brand. In addition, this person is well versed in all aspects of design production for the web, as well as best practices for designer/developer workflow. The ideal candidate has front-end development experience building user interfaces in Flex. * * *Responsibilities:* Acts as an interface between the designers and developers. Directs and educates designers in skinning production and flex capabilities. Implements pixel perfect designs while maintaining best practices. *Required Experience/Skills:* Solid understanding of Flash display programming: - Flash Player 9+ capabilities - ActionScript 3 - Flash drawing APIs Knowledge of Web browser capabilities and limitations. Experience creating conceptual prototypes using Flash, Flex or other front-end development technologies. Strong interaction design, motion graphic and cinematic animation skills. Skilled in graphic production: - Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash) - Experience building pixel perfect front-end layouts from design comps - Absolute attention to detail and nuance - Working experience of designer / developer workflow (best practices) Knowledge of best practices for customizing the presentation of Flex applications: - Understanding of skinning / styling using CSS - Working knowledge of MXML - Understanding of the flex component lifecycle - Knowledge of Flex component capabilities and limitations *Nice to have*: Knowledge of drawing and animation frameworks (Degrafa, Tweener, etc.) Experience developing custom components.
