*Overview:*
To act as a technology leader and use extensive knowledge of business and
I/S best practices to influence Client business and I/T solutions. Leads
system development and integration of multiple systems by providing
technical guidance and direction to project team members. Utilizing
established relationships, consult with Client leaders and vendors on
business process improvements. Provides guidance for I/S policies,
procedures, tools, security and infrastructure. Will be responsible for
becoming the Client IT subject matter expert on the new membership system;
collaborating with the vendor on the architecture and design to ensure
Client’s goals are met.
The incumbent will be responsible for delivering Extract, Transform and Load
(ETL) functionality in a Sun Solaris/DB2/SyBase IQ environment with
DataStage 8.x, KornShell, and SQL. In addition to individual delivery, the
tech lead is responsible for working with Architects and Project Managers to
plan and oversee delivery by developers ensuring that Client methodologies
and standards are followed.
*Responsibilities:*
- Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field or
equivalent experience.
- 7-9 years experience in computer applications development and/or system
analyst position with experience.
- Experience in programming languages (i.e. DataStage 8.x, KornShell and
SQL are required. SAS is preferred.)
- Experience in various Information Technology platforms (Client Server,
Data Warehouse, Internet/Intranet, Electronic Commerce, etc) and how each
fits within and/or complements the enterprise architecture. *DBMS
experience with DB2 is required* and SyBase IQ would be a plus.
- Experience in systems development life cycles.
- Knowledge and understanding of IT infrastructure.
- Experience in structured and/or object-oriented programming techniques.
- Good understanding of business continuity concepts and value.
- Ability to coach and mentor teammates.
- Knowledge of project methodologies.
- Demonstrated understanding of infrastructure issues – business and I/S.
- Ability to think strategically.
- Demonstrated strong analytic abilities and strong problem solving
skills.
*Qualifications:*
- Experience in healthcare industry.
- SyBase IQ experience.
- Experience with SAS.
