*Accessibility Specialist for the User Experience Research Team can work from Wilmington DE (preferred), Seattle or Jersey City * Provides vision, expertise and technology-based solutions in long range planning in the area of systems architecture. Serves as resident expert to conducts studies, investigate the latest technology developments and analyze impact of current and future system requirements. Recommends technology, drafts and presents proposed corporate policies, drafts and presents proposed procedures, practices and standards. Ensures that new initiatives conform to the firm's long term strategic goals. Establishes good working relationships with peers and outside organizations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Accessibility Conduct comprehensive accessibility analysis of Web pages and assets. Perform visual accessibility analysis on wireframes to identify potential barriers and violations. Prepare detailed reports documenting identified violations and suggesting potential solutions. Provide interface design recommendations Conduct analysis of reports from automated accessibility scans. Synergize with our exceptional interaction designers, developers and multi-media specialists to further improve information architecture, site navigation, labels, and other design elements. Interface with key stakeholders from various quarters to explain Web accessibility barriers and potential solutions in everyday language as well as tech speak. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 3+ years of Web accessibility analysis, design and development experience on large, highly dynamic sites. Solid knowledge of HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, AJAX and .net coding techniques, as well as US ADA Section 508 and W3C WCAG 2.0 standards. Strong understanding of accessible user interface design practices and principles Demonstrate experience relating to Internet usability/accessibility research. B.S. or Masters Degree in information technology, human computer interaction, or related field considered an advantage. Equivalent experience accepted. Extensive knowledge of accessibility barriers to the Web, as well as strong organizational skills are central to the position. Solid experience with MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel a must. Knowledge of Compliance Sheriff, Photoshop, SharePoint, Documentum (or others CMTs) and iRise (or other prototyping tools) are additionally advantageous. Strong communication, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills required.
