*SAP ABAP Developer*



*POSITION FUNCTION*

Under the general supervision of SAP Development Team Lead, the incumbent
will provide primary programming and analytical support to the SAP
application, offer skilled support resources to the organization, and assist
with future implementations and upgrades.  Act to protect and maintain the
process and systems standards and ensure documentation is kept up to date.
Provide SAP support for end users with responsibility to address functional,
technical, application, process, security, development, change requests and
other issues/questions related to SAP. Work with future releases of
functionality to ensure integration, compliance, data integrity, appropriate
training for end users and change control adherence.  Develop and maintain
required documentation in accordance with Information Technology standards.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

*Programming and Process Responsibilities*

·         Have a thorough understanding of SAP modules and any integrated
modules associated with the SAP software including CRM.

·         Facilitates change and continuous improvement to SAP applications

·         Troubleshoots and corrects SAP module problems by using ABAP
programming language to implement OSS Notes

·         Modifies system screens to provide default values and eliminate
unnecessary fields using transaction variants

·         Create specialized reports for SAP Modules using ABAP programming
language

·         Develops programs and supports production activities for IT
applications

·         Make required coding changes related to change request or system
updates

·         Interfaces with business analysts to ensure the proper integration
of business process and procedures

·         Maintain close contact with the business and business processes

·         Recommend ways to better use system functionality

·         Prepares comprehensive and thorough technical documentation
including specifications, test conditions, test plans, and test data

·         Provides technical support to users on matters related to the
programming of SAP modules

·         Provide support to end users of SAP system and related software

·         Provide on-call support and resolve production issues with
scheduled batch cycle runs

·         Assists in defining technical requirements for on-going systems
maintenance and future functionality.

·         Evaluate new releases and the impact and benefit of implementing
new releases

·         Maintains effective and cooperative working relationships with
business owners, functional team, project consultants, and vendors.

·         Adhere to all departmental standards

*Distinguishing Characteristics:*

A SAP ABAP Programmer applies advanced technical knowledge in the
programming, testing, and debugging of SAP modules. Proficiency in SAP ABAP
programming with BSPs and CCS experience are critical component of the
position.

*Documentation *– In accordance with Information Technology standards

·         Provides detail documentation

·         Documents the results of the analysis and design process

·         Assist users as needed in the preparation and update of  user
documentation



*PERFORMANCE AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS*

*Knowledge:*

·         SAP ABAP Programming Tools including Report and Transaction
creation, Enhancements, Conversion

·         Programming for CCS, CRM and IC Web Client including BSPs
programming is critical

·         Strong ABAP skills and concepts required

·         CCS experience is preferred

·         Application of OSS notes

·         SAP Modules and methodology

·         Principles and techniques of systems analysis, design and testing

·         Principles of program documentation

·         Principles of report, screen, and form design

·         New trends in the field of information technology

·         SAP workflow development and programming

·         SAP scripts,  smart forms, BADIs, user-exits, and BSPs

*Abilities:*

·         Develop and code any complex programs for SAP Modules and
applications

·         Develop test data and analyze problems in programs

·         Recognize the critical elements of application, problems, develop
and evaluate data, determine solutions, and make logical recommendations

·         Express difficult concepts clearly and concisely both orally and
in writing

·         Write clear, logical reports, and instructions

·         Write clear and logical program documentation

·         Work effectively on assigned projects with little help

·         Work effectively and cooperatively with administrators, staff,
users, project consultants and vendors

·         Train system users effectively

·         Meet established priorities and schedules

·         Learn new concepts in information technology

·         Learn the characteristics of new systems and update skills to
adapt to changing technology



*Training and Experience:* Requires a 4 year degree related to Computer
Science or applicable work experience in the area of Computer Science. The
position requires skills in time management, oral communication, written
communication, analysis, and design. Requires 3 to 5 years of experience in
ABAP and related software.  Requires 2 years of experience in design and one
year of experience in analysis.
