Technical Support - (Networking + Desktop Support) Austin, Texas 14 months Contract Rate: DOE Required skills and abilities: . 3 years experience learning new software applications with ease. . 3 years experience and knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for diagnosing hardware issues . 3 years experience relying on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of assigned duties. . 3 years experience taking direction and working in a team environment Responsibilities . Provide technical assistance to computer system users on a variety of issues. . Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. . Provide service and preventive maintenance activities on servers/routers, as well as updates and patches to various applications. . Take calls and or respond to trouble tickets regarding network, telephony and call recording issues. . Makes appropriate use of reference publications and diagnostic aids in resolving technical problems. Special Requirements: . Work hours: Shifts are staggered between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday-Friday. . Worker must have flexibility to work these hours. Preferred . Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems or a related field is required. . Related work experience may substitute for education requirement on a year for year basis. . 1 year experience installing and maintaining operating systems, software, and applications. . Proficient in diagnosing, trouble-shooting, and repairing computer issues.
