As a software engineer in the Consumer team, you will be enhancing core products and developing cutting edge services for the payment industry. A successful candidate will have a passion for good design and a love for developing robust code. *Responsibilities will include:* Implement new features using C++, JAVA and SQL in an Apache/Linux environment. Write high quality code and unit tests. Adhere to release/project schedules and milestones. Create high-level and detailed technical design documents, and conduct design reviews. Provide technical guidance and assistance to other software engineers. Maintain and enhance existing product capabilities. Develop and update product documentation. Play an active role in implementing and providing feedback on new processes. * * *Requirements:* The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of relevant web protocols. Commitment to highly available and platform independent software is required. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science is required, and Masters preferred, with 3 to 10+ yrs of software development experience. Expert level C++ (JAVA is a plus) skills are required with a demonstrated ability to resolve complex problems. Expert level SQL skills are required with a demonstrated ability to tune and optimize database queries. Strong understanding and command of OOA & OOP practices, UML is a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must. Familiarity with automated unit and system test strategies and frameworks. Familiarity with Clearcase & Clearquest preferred. Preferred experience developing secure, high volume, transactional software products.
