Title : Data Modeler Location: Portland. Maine Durtion : 7 months Rate : doe Job Description: The focus of this position is in defining and implementing the data designs for the Reporting Data Warehouse, as well as aiding other Data Architects in OLTP designs when required. This position will have overall responsibility for assessing business and technical requirements and defining data designs and optimized usage techniques in support of data delivery for High Volume Operational reporting Additionally this position will be responsible for aiding the Reporting Data Warehouse ETL team in data movement, staging and optimized loading strategies. This position reports into the Enterprise Services Data Architecture team. Required Skills: BS degree in computer science, finance, or related field Strong business and communication skills Minimum of 7 years Data Architect support for in both OLTP, ODS and Data Warehouse environments Solid understanding of relational database design fundamentals Experience with data warehousing elements including star schema, snowflake schema, cube design, ODS and Dimensional or Aggregative designs and others. Strong programming techniques to include SQL & PL/SQL. Strong in SQL performance and optimization analysis to include ad-hoc queries, reports, and complex data analysis queries. Must possess strong knowledge in Normalized and Dimensional Modeling. Must possess skills in Conceptual, Logical and Physical Modeling. Knowledge of SDLC methodologies and strategies. Proficiency required of Oracle 10g and/or 11g. Knowledge in ETL tools (Informatica PowerCenter) and general ETL techniques. Proficiency in SQLPlus, Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL Loader, Import/Export utilities, Oracle Networking (SQLNet).
