*Position Title: Project Manager*
*This position is a contract for 2 years *
*Location = Charleston WV*
*Rate: $55/hr on corp to corp *
PROJECT RESPONSIBILITY
Responsibility is held for overall coordination, status reporting, and
stability of projects. Specific responsibilities include:
·Compiling of the project plan and maintaining the detailed plan through the
full term of the. The project plan will be required to contain, at a
minimum, the following components; stakeholder register, communication
management, budget management, issue management, change management, risk
management, and a detailed schedule that includes a detailed description of
the task, the type of resources need for the task, start date, end date and
any task dependencies (predecessors or successors), staffing plan.
·Submitting an updated work plan at a frequency that is agreed upon and is
documented in the communication plan.
·Planning and conducting status meetings on a periodic and as needed basis
to discuss current project activities and address questions, issues, and
concerns.
·Compiling a written status report for high level executives. The status
report submission frequency is required to be included in the communication
plan. This status report is required to include, at a minimum, a health
indicator for budget, scope and schedule along with reporting period
accomplishments, issues and upcoming action items.
·Assisting the customer with conducting feasibility, risk assessment,
regulatory compliance assessments, etc.
·Working with subject matter experts, functional leads and technical leads
to create and manage the project work breakdown structure (WBS)
·Overseeing quality assurance, as well as accreditation and certification,
processes for project duration
·Developing , implementing and reporting on the issue management plan ,
risk management plan and change management plan
·Developing, implementing and managing the project communication plan
Coordinating with the WVOT leads and the customer to develop and implement
deployment, transition and maintenance plans
·Acting as an interface between business units, technology teams and support
teams
·Participating in analysis of requirements
·Documenting clearly and accurately requirements and project information
·Collecting and compiling daily status updates from other project team
members on assigned tasks
·Addressing issues and change requests according to the project management
methodology
·Some work will be performed outside of normal (M-F 8:00 – 5:00) work hours
*REQUIREMENTS*
Educational Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in
information technology, computer science, business administration or related
field is required. The selected candidate must be able to verify their
degree and that it was obtained from an accredited college or university.
Experience Requirements:
*Six years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience* in
information technology project management in *at least three *of the
following areas:
· Business analysis
· Technology procurement
· Computer programming
· Systems programming
· Database management
· Systems analysis and design
· System implementation
· Internet protocol telephony
· Technology architecture and design
*Certification Requirements: *
Preference will be given to candidates possessing industry recognized
project management certifications.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities in at least three of the
following:
· Technology system architecture
· System operation
· Software, hardware
· Databases
· Programming languages
· Networks and internet protocol telephony systems
All of the following are required:
·Knowledge of principles and practices of project management methodology,
such as the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
·Knowledge of life-cycle management concepts
·Knowledge of information technology metrics methods and concepts
·Skill in the use of personal computers in a Windows-based operating
environment
·Ability to manage and report on information technology projects
·Ability to develop , manage and report on project budgets
·Ability to plan strategically based on project management plan
·Ability to compile, assimilate, understand complex technical information
and data and to communicate this information to various groups/stakeholders
on information technology concepts and terminology
·Ability to assess contract compliance and product/service quality
·Ability to communicate effectively and to deliver effective presentations
·Ability to lead various employee levels to include management,
professional, technical and support staff
·Ability to understand and business requirements of the customers and
translate them to clearly documented requirements
·Ability to document and analyze the required information and data
·Ability to understand the technical designs as well as the specifications
