Job Description:

- IT asset inventory for Central Office: inventory, track and refresh all
computer assets for VDOT Central Office employees, coordinating computer
refreshes with outsourced Information Technology Partnership (Northrop
Grumman) individuals, their designated vendor, and VDOT customers, assigning
the time, and following up to ensure inventory is updated with the most
recent information available, using all available tools (Active Directory,
Altiris (PARS).

- Separation Notifications: Upon receipt of separation notifications from
the Security group, contact the Central Office VDOT individual’s manager to
verify departure, transfer, or other change. In the case of departure or
transfer to another district, have the asset picked up, re-imaged and
returned to ITD for future deployment.

- Support the state District Technology Resource Managers: administer the IT
Field Support portal where documents are uploaded weekly to monthly
(depending on the distribution from the partnership or in-house groups);
other tools include email, and/or phone call. Documents posted on the ITFS
portal range from “how to” instructions to the monthly VITA bills. Provides
a portion of the DTRM related activities for Central Office.

- Provide phone and network cable installation support to the entire state,
coordinating the job from the work order request through the PO process, to
invoicing. Manage a log (cable schedule) on the ITFS portal for DTRM
information and review; attend weekly facilities meeting in Central Office
for future building/network cable installations, as well as a weekly cable
meeting with the network cable group (System Engineers).

- Review/audit the monthly invoice from the partnership, file credit
requests, changes in location, changes in asset information, etc.

- Customer Service: assist VDOT customers state-wide, via phone call, email,
or walk-ups, with miscellaneous requests; i.e., how to place an order, which
models are current, who to contact regarding issues with equipment, compose
IT-96 forms, log tickets with the Help Desk for customers and ITD staff.

- Research and offer options/advice, based on, or with thought to, the
partnership structure and rules in place for IT equipment, upon request.
