Monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service. . Managing internal and external Oracle database security . Physical/logical database design and tuning. . Use of distributed databases. . Hot and cold database backup and recovery scenarios . Shell scripting, PL/SQL . Database security management . Database clustering technologies . Backup recovery using Recovery Manager (RMAN) . Code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle. . Interface with the users and translate business requirements into database reality. . Use of OLTP and OLAP applications, Data Warehousing concepts, DSS experience and reporting tools. . Use of other database systems, SQL Server. Relevant Experience - Select all in which candidate is proficient / certified . Required (candidate will not be considered qualified if any are not selected) Oracle 10g . At least 5 years of experience in managing production Oracle databases. Preferred Experience . A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar discipline from a recognized college or university or equivalent work experience. . Oracle 10g Administrator Certified Associate (OCA) . Oracle 10g Administrator Certified Professional (OCP) . SQL . PL/SQL . Oracle Utilities . Relational database concepts . Problem solving techniques . Software upgrades . Network concepts . Physical database design . Client-server technology .
