Manhattan Consultant
Essential Functions
1. Performs analysis, design, implementation, and enhancements for new
and existing Supply Chain systems.
§ Participates as a senior project team member as assigned.
§ Provides input for the feasibility of proposed projects.
§ Identifies system impact of changes to the company, user and operating
systems.
§ Actively participates in design meetings with both IT and end user
groups.
§ Prepares and submits new assignments and coordinates implementation.
§ Participates in testing, user training and result evaluation.
§ Oversees the vendor during technical implementation.
§ Trains or organizes training to end users or technical support staff.
2. Prepares functional and detailed technical specifications from which
programs will
be written.
§ Consults with Project Manager, Business Analyst and/or key users to
identify system solutions to solve business issues.
§ Prepares the requirements definition including user procedures,
flowcharts and preliminary report and screen definitions.
§ Provides the functional systems design, including final report and screen
definitions, logical system flow and implementation plans
3. Develops or modifies procedures to solve complex technical
problems.
§ Analyzes and estimates feasibility, time and compatibility with other
programs and applications
§ Develops and maintains plans outlining steps and time tables for
development effort
§ Creates test scenarios and runs tests to find errors and confirm
development meet specifications
§ Analyzes highly complex code to find causes of errors and revises
programs
§ Consults with Technical Managers, Project Managers, Business Analysts
and/or key users to prototype, refine, and test and debug programs to meet
needs
§ Provides technical assistance and guidance by responding to inquiries
from others regarding errors, problems or questions about programs
4. Provides guidance, training and production support as
required.
§ Writes and maintains documentation to describe program development,
logic, coding, testing, changes and corrections
§ Partners with users to identify system improvements that increase
efficiencies
§ Provides support for production systems to ensure issues are resolved in
a timely manner; this will occur in an “on call” fashion within/outside
normal business hours.
§ Analyzes, researches and resolves help desk development support tickets
§ Partners with other IT groups (DBA’s, Admins) to identify systems
improvements that
increase efficiencies
§ Provides support direction or training for less experienced staff and
guides and
coordinates work of consultants
§ Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others
regarding errors, problems or questions about programs.
§ Supports programmer/analysts in business related issues
REQUIREMENTS
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Completes tasks that are varied and require independent judgment
· Ability to provide functional and detailed specifications from
which a programmer may develop procedures.
· Creates documents w/peer review
· Provides support and maintenance for complicated/integrated
incidents
· Troubleshoots moderately complex problems and recommends
appropriate action
· Evaluates risk potential and recommends solutions
· Involved in projects as a contributor and can lead projects;
effective time management skills
· Understands and applies functional area’s strategy
· 5+ years experience in Oracle (including 10 or 11), SQL, PL/SQL,
Unix, Manhattan WMOS/EIS/LM, MS Office, Visio.
· Knowledge of PIX processing
· WMOS Configuration
· SDN Installation
· Crystal Reports preferred
· Retail experience strongly preferred
