*Job Title* Build Engineer

*Experience Level* 5+ years

*Location* Parsippany, NJ

*Start Date* ASAP

*Duration* 6 Months Contract

*Job Description*

• Consultant will be required to develop and test build scripts
in Unix and Windows to automate the compilation of a wide range of
technologies such as: DotNet, C/C++, Java, Tibco, and others.

• These scripts must be designed to run with no human
interaction, but instead will perform their software build tasks in an
automated manner after receiving non-interactive commands from Hewlett
Packard Deployment manager. The output of these build scripts will be
packaged builds such as WAR files, EAR files, JAR files, TAR files or
bundles of directories as produced by MS Visual studio.

• Consultant will also be required to process 8-14 manual
software package migrations per day using tools such as Assyst, Sharepoint,
Email, sftp etc. These “Package Migrations” are time sensitive management
tasks supporting Release Management and QMO. This process uses a package
upload web tool to permit developers to hand off software releases onto the
Release Engineering Server “INBOX”. Clearly spoken English is a must.

•           The Release Engineering Consultant then gathers QMO approvals;
documents the request, migrates the package to the “OUTBOX”, and opens an
Assyst Ticket requesting Data Center resources for the task. These software
migration tasks typically consume 60-90 minutes or more per day, but are
very time sensitive, requiring accuracy, multitasking, attention to detail
and the willingness to “drop everything” and perform the migration task.

*Required Skills*

• UNIX, Perl and Windows shell scripting using Unix tools such as
sed, grep Regular expression constructs, and the development of creative
solutions to complex software build problems.

• Other required skills are Maven, ANT, and exposure to TCP/IP
fundamentals using Public/Private key authentication supporting SSH, SFTP,
and SCP.

• Comprehensive documentation will be required for all work
produced; including clear commenting of any complex scripting methods
implemented inside the Perl or KornShell scripts.
