* * *UI Designer * *Chicago, IL* *3-4 Months (Local consultant preffer)* *Research* • Work closely with groups across Nokia L&C to understand their business models and goals; help define strategy, content, and features to meet these needs • Plan usability research studies to meet organizational objectives • Develop usability test materials including tasks, moderation guides and prototypes for testing • Conduct contextual inquiry (in person observation & interviews) with target users to understand their mental models and behaviors • Analyze and evaluate customer data, including usability research findings, competitive products, customer feedback and site metrics to better understand user audience *Design* • Make technology and process recommendations to better serve customers and to meet business goals • Define information architecture and navigation for Nokia L&C services and applications for web, mobile, automobile and other interactive platforms and new media • Create interaction design deliverables such as wireframes, site maps, process maps, feature lists, detailed user personas, mockups, visual specifications, working prototypes and other artifacts to describe the intended user experience • Other UCD related activities as required *[ Qualifications ]* • Undergraduate degree (degree or coursework in the following is a plus: design, human computer interaction, anthropology, architecture, library or information science) • 4-7 years experience designing for multi-role systems • Experience creating and conducting user research studies and translating their results into design decisions • Strong knowledge of principles and practices of human-computer interaction and user-centered design • Expertise creating a wide variety of User Experience deliverables including wireframes, user personas and prototypes • Strong understanding of design research methodologies • Solid understanding of the capabilities and constraints of interactive platforms including, but not limited to, web, mobile, etc. • Strong knowledge of front-end web development (HTML/CSS). Knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX, PHP, ASP, XML, Flash, broadband technology, video streaming, mobile and other Internet technology a plus. • Expert knowledge of relevant software (Axure, MS Office, Adobe CS etc.).
