*MS SQL Server DBA* *Dearborn, MI* *Duration : 6 months * *Rate : $50-55/hr* *This position’s job duties and responsibilities include: * • Ensure that new database code meets company standards for readability, reliability, and performance • Work with development team to identify resource-intensive queries on the server and suggest ways to improve performance • Work with Development teams to identify need for Views and build the views. • Optimize the existing resource intensive views • Design indexes for existing applications, choosing when to add or remove indexes • When users complain about the performance of a particular query, help developers improve the performance of that query by tweaking it or modifying indexes • Advise developers on the most efficient /optimal database designs (tables, data types, Views etc) *Experience should include:* •Writing and improving *DDL *and *DML* queries for MS SQL Server (2008 R2) •Designing tables,views and picking datatypes •Using Profiler traces and other tools to find the most frequently run queries • Understanding the Query profile ,Network and time statics , validate the cost of the query and identify fix and •Using *open source* / Microsoft tools like sp_BlitzIndex™ and DMV queries as well as modeling tools like IBM Power Designer •Deciding whether clustering, log shipping, mirroring, replication, etc are the right fit to solve a business problem • Supporting the Load & Performance testing and review of performance scenarios and design fix . • Data load experience using SSIS from multiple data bases.
