*Title: J2EE Developer* Location: Brea, CA Duration: 6+ months Client: CSC Primary responsibility to plan and develop our current and next generation of laboratory software systems. The incumbent translates requirements into software requirement specifications. The incumbent architects, designs, codes and tests software components. The Senior Software Engineer will conduct and participate in reviews and inspections for all elements in the software lifecycle to ensure that our software quality and customer satisfaction goals are achieved. The incumbent will be responsible for all elements of the software life cycle. The incumbent will also be responsible for investigating system issues and successfully determining root cause. May lead and/or participate in multi-functional product research and development teams. Key Accountabilities Prepares appropriate documentation as required by internal product development processes and regulatory agencies such as FDA and ISO. Applies extensive knowledge of technical principals, theories, and concepts in Software Development field. Translates requirements into software requirement specifications. Creates architecture, design, code and unit test modules/components. Conducts and participates in design, code and test reviews and inspections, ensuring application of software engineering best practices, as well as the feasibility, efficacy and compliance to functional and regulatory standards. Works closely with the software team, the software verification team, the functional manager and the project manager. Provides technical information to the technical documentation team. Collaborates with distributed, cross-functional teams to ensure products meet quality, performance, scalability, reliability, and schedule goals. Supports development of project plans, including scope, budget, schedules and risk management. Investigates software, hardware, and system problems using a variety of techniques and provides innovative solutions. Mentors other team members. *Qualifications and Skill set* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field with 5+ years experience OR Masters degree in field with 3+ years experience, or Doctoral degree with 0 - 2 years experience. Minimum 3 years experience in developing global, n-tiered enterprise applications with JEE/ Java. Experience in building data presentation layers for large complex data sets. Experience with JEE5 (JSP/JMS/Web Services/Servlets), HTML5, AJAX, JQuery or other JavaScript libraries. Experience with database management and SQL development. Experience with transitioning user interfaces to new application server technologies. Experience with web development utilizing technologies such as Spring, Hibernate or GWT. Familiarity with software lifecycle (requirements, design, code, test). Understanding of software development processes for a regulated environment (ISO9000/FDA). Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server is a plus. Experience with WebLogic Application Server and WebLogic Portal a plus. Experience with Map/Reduce, Hadoop, HBase and relevant technologies a plus. Experience in medical device design & development a plus. Experience in Personal Software Process (PSP) and Team Software Process (TSP) a plus. Experience with the requirements management tools such as Cockpit is a plus. Ability to work with cross-functional and remote teams. Excellent communication skills.
