Looking forward for your response. *Role: NoSQL **Database Administrator * *Location: San Jose, CA or RTP, NC * *Duration: Long-Term * *Job Description:* Cisco Engineering IT is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage our Database Platform consisting of SQL and NoSQL databases. The ideal candidate has a self-starter attitude and will possess excellent database administration and development skills with superb attention to detail. The candidate’s track record must demonstrate recent experience supporting database with critical workloads in the area of Neo4J, MongoDB and Oracle. The technologies involved are Unix-based, primarily Red Hat Enterprise Linux, UCS VMWare. In-depth knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, NFS and Linux file systems are essential. Experience working with Virtual Machines (VMware) is highly desired. Experience in designing and implementing backup database and recovery required. Problem solving and performance tuning skills are required. Unix sysadmin experience preferred. Additional NoSQL technologies such as Cassandra, Hadoop, Spark is a plus. *Responsibilities* · Implement new database solutions in the area of NoSQL including Neo4J and MongoDB. · Architect new backup and recovery strategies for NoSQL Databases · Perform database installs, patches and upgrades · Work with DBAs to support and enhance existing relational databases including Oracle, Postgres and MySQL · Participate in maintenance and upgrade activities including after business hours or weekends. · Coordinate outage windows with end users and administrators. · Proactively monitor infrastructure and apply fixes and corrections. · Work with system administrators to address hardware and storage issues. · Debug complex database issues. · Proactively identify database performance issues and develop additional metrics to track performance · Follow corporate standards to enforce security and eliminate vulnerabilities · Provide case support. · Handle user escalations and articulate solutions. · Evaluate and Research new database technologies and trends. *Must Have skills:* • 5+ years of SQL and NoSQL Database administration experience. • Strong database experience: Neo4J, MongoDB, Graph Databases, Oracle, MySQL, Postgres • Experience with Red Hat Linux version 6 and 7, ext4 and xfs file systems. • Strong experience working with storage domaim ..
