Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening,

My name is Steve Cothard, and I'm very interested in playing a Sangiovanni
character. Liz was kind enough to put me on this list, so thank you for
that, and here's my pitch for a PC as I search for an IC sire.

Come the reset, I'm abandoning my current Acolyte character (Terry Bartlett)
in favor of something different. Terry was a Daeva, and a lot of fun to
play, but I'm looking to play a character that takes the actual religion of
the Crone a little more seriously than my partyboy Daeva did. He was an
Asnam, which is cool and fun, but lends itself to a very insular faith as I
just sit around and get worshipped by NPCs. Not fun enough by far because
it kind of discourages me hanging out with other PCs. A serious Crone
looked like tons more fun.

Why Sangiovanni, then, who are primarly LS by canon? To be perfectly frank,
they were not the first option I considered. I'm making this character as
part of a coterie of Acolytes, led by a PC cult leader, who worship the
Crone-as-destroyer. A group of nihilists, where the cult leader's character
concept is "the Dark Bhudda" ("Let go of the temporal, do not fear your
destruction, nothing really matters.") My character doesn't exactly "get
it" when it comes to the existential nihilism, but he believes what the cult
leader preaches in a sort of abstract way and so he acts as support staff
for the cult. Allies: Trash Collectors, that kind of thing. I've had
contact from Karans and Egregoroi about potential sires, but the former are
a little too suicidally crazy for me, the latter are tied too closely to
another PC I play, and neither of them would let me play a Sangiovanni :)
My original plan had been to play a Norvegi, which fits with that
down-trodden, dirty jobs concept, but then someone pointed the Sangiovanni
out to me. Surely a neonate-borderline-ancilla who does dirty jobs both for
money and for his religious beliefs is a character concept that could fit in
with the family and the bloodline. Besides, as part of not caring for
possessions, the cult leader kills a lot of ghouls. Ghouls that someone
could be putting to better use after their demise... Hanging out with a
nihilist coterie seemed like a great way to explore death in all its
permutations.

Pertinent facts:

   - PC will be comparitively young (born no more than 80 years ago,
Embraced no more than 50) and a member of the Circle of the Crone.
   - The plan is for the character not to be public about his family and
bloodline; not ashamed of them, just kind of quiet and keeping personal
   things personal.
   - Per the age, the goal is to be kind of low on the totem pole.
   - Ideally, I would prefer that he be part of the family and part of the
line; Avusing is for the non-hardcore. :) (no offense to the avused).
   - This character will be primarily based in Chicago, IL (my home domain
is DeKalb, IL, but Chicago is only an hour away and it's common here for
Chicago/DeKalb players to have characters in each other's domains).
   - I also play a Status 5 Dragon, so I wind up playing him most often when
I travel, but I'm not averse to playing this character at Cons or over the
   internet for cool family stuff.

Above all else, what I'm really looking for that people tell me I can find
with the Sangiovanni is family-based roleplay. My primary Requiem
character, the one I've had from the start, is a Ventrue Ordo Dracul who
hates his family and avoids them. While that's fun and all, I keep feeling
like I'm missing out on having an IC family. A family that exists both as
mortal and kindred is a dream come true for me.

Anyone see anything they might like in a kid? Mortal or Embrace? I've been
playing my other character for so long that I'm honestly not sure how this
works; are there any other questions I can answer?

Thanks for your kind attention,
