OK, just responding to everyone at once here. :) I am OOCly in the Peoria area (the middle of Illinois, USA). I had started a chapter here back in 2003 but it folded shortly after I moved to HI. I am now back in IL with no transportation so I am going to try to get attached to 4 Winds most likely until I have transportation and then I will probably attach to the nearest group (about 30 miles away) until when/ and if we get our old chapter restarted here. So I am in IL, but will probably be doing most of my stuff online or through proxy for a while at least. I also should have another character I can play live if my ghoul needs to be proxied somewhere and I do happen to have a game. As far as how to explain why a regnant would send my ghoul to set up in another city, I am not sure. She is a lawyer and I was thinking of having her deal a bit more with the underworld, politics, bribery, and such. It would be likely that she would be useful for someone who was expanding or maintaining not quite legal ventures. She also has some talent at mundane means to make inconvenient people disappear. Being a ghoul though she would not be one to go into fair combat with vampires but more likely to deal with their mortal associates. I am planning on her being very low morality so if something is adventageous, her conscience wouldn't be a problem. She is not a hot head but rather a careful planner and manipulator. I can really see almost any covenant working for a regnant to belong to if she can rationalize their reasons for belonging. But probably the two best fits would be LS then Invictus. Ordo doesn't really make much sense for her to be serving given so much of it revolves around manipulating the curse that she does not have. Crone seems sort of an odd fit with the faith. And Carthians seem a little too untraditional. LS would have the added benefit of reliquaries in emergencies where she was having trouble reaching her regnant for some reason. It sounds as if most of the family is not particularly high on humanity and that is probably good. As far as their ideas on ghouls, she will be able to act properly but will not see the majority of the general vampire population as being better than her. She will take orders but would not cope well with someone that does not treat her with dignity assuming she is doing everything right. My current idea for the way her morality would be skewed is somewhat like the OWoD Path of Power and the Inner Voice, but as a ghoul and with loyalty to the family and seeing advancing them as going with advancing herself. I like to play ghouls that take advantage of the things they can do that a vampire cannot, especially daylight as opposed to being stupid and trying to act as if they are a vampire. I am using Prudence as her virtue and I think Pride as her vice. As for mortal family, I really am pretty open to ideas there. She most likely would not have been in a hurry to have children unless it was deemed her duty to because that would get in the way of everything else she does. So far it sounds like Greg's PC might be the best fit so far with age and covenant for regnant and a possible mortal tie in. I am retiring my Gangrel (one of my two full chronicle primaries) to make this character but I am still going to have my Daeva (Chase Monroe aka Vivien C. Valreaux aka Chastity) in play and she is nominally LS (for now) but never got the approval on the True Covenant change and got F'ed over by the covenant so I really don't see there being conflict with a ghoul to the LS. I can make some adjustments on my sheet for things that she would likely know still because I am still playing with the last of the points trying out different ideas.
