This appears to be a problem with the way the log window is rendered. The
'Finish' button doesn't become active until all the log messages are
written, but Eclipse will launch before this. In my case, it took 45
minutes to completely write all the log messages. That is, Eclipse
launched, and for 45 minutes the window kept rendering messages (mostly
about 'Installing XXX').

I've filed [1] for this.

Yes, this does seem to be a problem -- and if we ever hit it, it would
likely cause a lot of confusion. I thought everything was converted to GMT
(at least for the platform build) but I could be wrong.  If @pascal is on
this list, he might know. If not, maybe this is a good question to raise at
the next AC meeting (just to see if other projects are having this problem).
