I am pretty sure there was no objection to having a backup in apache extras. The problem was checking the tip into SVN. However we do it we will probably lose information. Apparently, but we only know of Florent trying, the direct conversion tools take too long. Going through git makes the repository fatter than the original. I personally liked Christian's idea for starting from the old subversion server and doing a progressive conversion from there. This would save the most of the metadata. Someone has to try though ;). BTW, since this repository already exists: > > [1] http://code.google.com/a/apache-extras.org/p/ooo/ > Perhaps there is some option to import the bugzilla database there too? More than a backup, it would be a good test run so that we know what to expect from the conversion. cheers, Pedro.
