Hi; Looking around the net it looks like Google is not happy about GPLd fonts either so they now have a replacement to the so-called Liberation fonts:

Unlike the droid fonts, these are actually under SIL's OFL, which is -I think- weak copyleft, so we should be able to include them as binaries in the release. best regards, Pedro.
