Concerning the graphic in the blog post: I see the graphic just great when I go to it directly.
On the preview page, I see all other images, just not the graphic. For that I get the usual small red X. (This is with IE 9.0.4 on Windows 7). DIGGING INTO THE HTML: If I view source and use the URL that is in the page directly, I am asked whether I want to download or view the image first. The difference may be the & escaping (which is not URL encoding) that is done on the page, even though the page is not in XHTML. It is in HTML 4.01 Transitional. Here's what may be the problematic URL: http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/download/file.php?id=13066&mode=view Chrome 16.0.912.75 loads the image (URL above) directly. The preview page also loads, with graphic, just fine. - Dennis PS: This URL, http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/download/file.php?id=13066%26mode=view Has the same behavior (choice of download or open) when used directly in IE 9. It opens directly in Chrome though. DIGGING INTO THE HTTP: I think it is the cookies. All three flavors of the URL (including "&" direct) work the same once I remember to quote the URL here (line breaks added for readability): C:\command>curl -iI "http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/download/file.php?id=13066&mode=view" HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Mon, 09 Jan 2012 03:45:47 GMT Server: Apache X-Powered-By: PHP/5.3.2-1ubuntu4.10 Set-Cookie: phpbb3_e5h24_u=1; expires=Tue, 08-Jan-2013 03:45:47 GMT; path=/; domain=user.services.openoffice.org; HttpOnly Set-Cookie: phpbb3_e5h24_k=; expires=Tue, 08-Jan-2013 03:45:47 GMT; path=/; domain=user.services.openoffice.org; HttpOnly Set-Cookie: phpbb3_e5h24_sid=a72bba5a4149ea7519a9457c07e76025; expires=Tue, 08-Jan-2013 03:45:47 GMT; path=/; domain=user.services.openoffice.org; HttpOnly Pragma: public Content-Disposition: inline; filename*=UTF-8''2011-12-30.png Content-Length: 50945 Last-Modified: Wed, 04 Jan 2012 23:24:30 GMT Vary: User-Agent Content-Type: image/png CONFIRMATION I used IE 8.0.6001.18702 from a Windows XP SP3 system, and it doesn't show the graphic either. However, there is a privacy alert in the status line of the IE 8 window and when I click it I am told that the cookies from the graphic's URL were blocked. However, even though I allowed all cookies from openoffice.org, the blocking continues. So there is more to it. - Dennis -----Original Message----- From: Rob Weir [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, January 08, 2012 17:24 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: EN Forum Activity Summary On Sun, Jan 8, 2012 at 8:15 PM, Dennis E. What happens if you try directly: http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/download/file.php?id=13066&mode=view Is there anyone who cannot load the image at that URL? As far as I can tell, Roller doesn't store images. It refers to external ones by URL. -Rob > - Dennis > > -----Original Message----- > From: Rob Weir [mailto:[email protected]] > Sent: Sunday, January 08, 2012 15:33 > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: EN Forum Activity Summary > > On Sun, Jan 8, 2012 at 5:45 PM, Hagar Delest <[email protected]> wrote: >> Since the post has been reviewed by some other Volunteers, the initial >> signature at the end of the text seems fine: >> >> Hagar Delest, >> On the behalf of the Forum Volunteers >> > > Done.
