Here is the boilerplate that I had been using previously:

  2. If you want to use and be recognized by additional e-mail addresses,
  please add them as aliases for your <id>@apache.org user-name/e-mail
  address using the procedure for updating MailAlias.txt described here:

  You will need to make SVN access to the top level of the committers SVN
  area.

Oddly, none of them refer to the mailAlias.txt file.  How did we learn
of it originally when we joined?
