That patch doesn't help (I've done "build --from binfilter --prepare"

And you won't believe it: it works with ld.gold, but NOT with
ld.bfd... Maybe Ubuntu 11.10 swapped them around?
Just out of curiosity, did you (re)build everything with ld.gold, or did
you just finish your build with it? Being able to build everything with
ld.gold would surprise me a little bit.
