Further chat with the people on the #scribus chatroom on IRC they
point me out about the way they handle SVG
They are a few versions behind. OpenOffice Chart now produces much
better graphics and the bitmap artifacts are a thing of the past. This
was implemented in Apache OpenOffice version 3.4, see

The Scribus people might want to give it a try and possibly update their
page.
