If you want, you can enter an issue in BZ for this. We have a category for trademark issues: https://issues.apache.org/ooo/enter_bug.cgi?product=trademark This is useful for tracking. It also allows the subset of the volunteers who are interested and knowledgeable about trademarks to deal with it, even if they are not available during the time that the email thread is active.
