Open two blank "Write" documents (windows): A and B. 2. Into A and B respectively, write "1". 3. In A, find "1" and replace with "2". It may not matter whether find succeeded, or replacement is carried out. But is my test case, I let both of them succeed. Now, in B, the "Search Text" has "1" preselected, and the "Replacement Text" has "2" in the drop-down. 4. In A, find "2" and replace with "3". Now, in B, the "Search Text" has "2" preselected, and "1" in the drop-down, *but* the "Replacement Text" does *not* have "3" either preselected or in the drop-down, but only "2" in the drop-down.
