It looks like the file you downloaded is corrupt, may be due to an incomplete
download. Please check the file integrity with the checksums, you can download
them from 
http://www.openoffice.org/download/checksums/3.4.0_checksums.html

this page also gives you information about how to verify and check the package
integrity on MacOS.

Select the checksum for the file you downloaded, it has the same name as the
file, plus the extension, according to the check sum type.
For example, if you downloaded

Apache_OpenOffice_incubating_3.4.0_MacOS_x86_langpack_en-US.dmg

the MD5 checksum is

Apache_OpenOffice_incubating_3.4.0_MacOS_x86_langpack_en-US.dmg.md5
