          Priority: P3
            Bug ID: 120482
                CC: [email protected]
          Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: Lack of a certain Dictionary does not prevent from
                    spellcheking in that language
          Severity: critical
        Issue Type: DEFECT
    Classification: Code
                OS: Windows XP
          Reporter: [email protected]
          Hardware: PC
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
           Version: AOO 3.4.0
         Component: spell checking
           Product: lingucomponent

I've just installed OO 3.4. I'm Polish, so, naturally, I started typing (in
Writer) in Polish. OO (automatically I think) set that my native language is
Polish. Good job!
Then I realized I made a spelling error. And it went unnoticed. I deliberately
made some more... and nothing.

Then I realized....and this is gonna sound really stupid... that I don't have
Polish dictionary extension installed!

So, tell me this, dear Apache Open Office:

HOW THE HELL CAN OPEN OFFICE CHECK WORDS IN A SET LANGUAGE, IF OO DOES *NOT*
HAVE THAT LANGUAGE'S DICTIONARY?

I mean... this is one of the stupidest thing I've ever heard!
And obviously, OO does not notify me of this problem. It's like
"What? You want me to spellcheck in Polish? Oh, wait, let me see... a! Hmm.. It
seems I don't have Polish Dictionary, so I will use blank file instead. I don't
see any errors (cos there are no rules), so you must have typed all words
correctly! My job here is done! *dozes off* "

Really? If OO underlined ALL words in red, at least that would be more logical
and actually would make me think more, what could be the problem.

I am highly dissapointed
