How to reproduce :
1) Start AOOo
2) Select create a new database (File > New > Database) or use the start
center.
3) Select "Connect to an existing database"
4) Click on the drop down menu list to select your db to connect to.
5) Thunderbird does not appear in the list.
Conclusion : impossible to set up a connection to a Thunderbird address book on
Mac OSX
