The current solution is (as mentioned by others): 1. Create a chart 2. Exit the Edit mode for the chart (by clicking outside of the chart area) 3. Change the sheet name (for example "q" instead of "Sheet1"). 4. Click (once) on the chart to select it. 5. Use copy (Menu Edit->Copy, Control-C or Command-C). 6. Switch to Draw, Impress, or Writer. 7. Use paste function (Menu Edit->Paste, Control-V, or Command-V).
