I'm using Open Office version 3.4.1 Build 9593, with Mac OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 I wrote the text "I'm making a hyperlink to http://www.google.com"; in Writer. I then changed the font to Verdana, and then I copied and pasted the text into Calc, and the font was changed. To verify the bug, I wrote the same text in Microsoft Word, and then copied the text into Calc, and the font did NOT change. To further verify the bug, I also pasted the text from Writer into TextEdit, the system default text editor for OS X, and the font became corrupted as well, in the EXACT same manner as in Calc.
