--- Comment #5 from [email protected] --- Created attachment 79709 --> https://issues.apache.org/ooo/attachment.cgi?id=79709&action=edit Screen shots of the java error, Write error, and the version of Java AOO is using Operating System: Windows 7 64-Bit, 4.00gb Ram AOO Version: AOO341m1(Build:9593) - Rev.1372282 Java Version: 1.6.0_34 from Sun Microsystems Inc. Summary: I have replicated the results David Taylor has posted regarding the Microsoft Word 2003 XML files not working. I created a text file (3-4 pages) as describe in the original posters description but had no issue saving to Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP format. Test 1: 1. Create new OO text document through Windows context menu (Right-Click->New->OpenDocument Text) 2. Open document 3. Type in "My name is sam I am." 4. Copy text and paste until page length reaches 3 to 4 pages. 5. Saved file via: File->Save As->Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP (.doc) (*.doc) Test 2: 1. Create new OO text document through Windows context menu (Right-Click->New->OpenDocument Text) 2. Open document 3. Type in "Hello World" 4. Saved file via: File->Save As->Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP (.doc) (*.doc) 5. Repeat step 4 for: a. Microsoft Word 95 (.doc) (*.doc) b. Microsoft Word 6.0 (.doc) (*.doc) c. Microsoft Word 2003 XML (.xml) (*.xml) Received Failure when trying to save as an .xml document ("c"). Gave two message box pop-ups. The first had a title of "Select JRE" and read "The OpenOffice.org configuration has been changed. Under Tools - Options - OpenOffice.org - Java, select the Java runtime environment you want to have used by OpenOffice.org." The second had a title of "OpenOffice.org 3.4.1" and read "Error saving the document <filename>:Write Error. The file could not be written." The <filename> portion displays as the filename of the original document you are trying to save as a new document, not the name you inputted for the new document being saved. Follow-up to Test 2: (To determine which file is named in the <filename>:Write Error) 1. Create new OO text document through Windows context menu (Right-Click->New->OpenDocument Text) 2. Rename file Inputfile.odt 3. Open document 4. Type in "Hello World" 5. Saved file via: File->Save As->Microsoft Word 2003 XML (.xml) (*.xml) 6. Type in "Outputfile.xml" as the filename for the output document. 7. Start saving process. 8. Click through first message box, the one concerning Java 9. Second message box appears, should reference Inputfile:Write Error. Test 3: Same steps and results as Test 2, but created document by opening an existing document and using File->New->Text Document Test 4: Same steps and results as Test 2, but created document by opening the program using Start->All Programs->OpenOffice.org 3.4.1->OpenOffice.org Writer -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
