Forgot to mention: archived version don't need installation, simply untar them, they have -arc- in the name, like Apache_OpenOffice_incubating_3.5.0_Linux_x86-64_install-arc_en-US.tar.gz_2012-08-26_04:19:36_1377373.tar.gz (yes, there seems to be a bug in the naming scheme).
