I never got the "component manager" error so I can't say for sure, but I
just tried and if I make all Java implementations on my machine
unavailable to OpenOffice (by uninstalling/moving them), then running
"soffice" prints the
javaldx: Could not find a Java Runtime Environment!
warning, but then OpenOffice starts normally and all operations not
requiring Java are OK.
