But it should use whichever email client is set up as the default. I
think it's more likely that the message indicates that he has no email
client designated as default.

Mike,
Go to OpenOffice->Preferences
Select "Internet"
Direct OpenOffice to your Mail client, e.g., /Applications/Mail.app
Click the OK button to accept. Should work after that.
The problem is simply that AOO doesn't know where your e-mail program resides.

Thanks for your response Martin,
*File --> Send ... Document as E-mail**..* brings up the following two
messages:
"There is no email program associated to perform the requested action.
Please install an email program, or if one is already installed, create an
association in the "Default Programs" control panel"
"Open Office.Org was unable to find a working email configuration. Please
save this document locally, and attach it from within your email client."

This has nothing to do with file associations.

Hello,
Since I have installed the latest version, I am not able to directly email
a document. I can only add it as an attachment.
I have checked my file associations and Open Office has been made the
default program in every case.
What more can I do?
