Okay, I've built the beta at svn revision 4861 on a number of different Linux systems and Windows systems. I don't get any errors running the test suite on any system now.
The number of bugs being reported has trickled to an end pretty much. Depending on what David sees when he re-tests on his Fedora 10 machine, I'd like to move on and do a release candidate, a RC 1.
