I'm not adverse to doing a bug fix release, but the appropriate way to do this would be to copy the 4.0.0 release into a 4.0.1 branch and merge any bug fixes back into that branch. I know for my changes, the trunk code base is not really in releasable shape, and will not be there for some time. Most of the bug fixes should merged back into 4.0.0 fairly cleanly. There have been a enough other bugs reported against the base interpreter to warrant a point release.
