I had a little extra time today. It seems to work fine for me too. I
ran a couple variations on the above, including the hostemu.cls
program, and they all worked fine.
For example:
say 'Starting'
address hostemu 'execio * diskr "./hostemu.def" (finis stem in.'

Gives:
