Hi there,

tried to compile 4.1.0 for i386 on MacOSX which seems to succeed, at
least I can run "rexx -v" from the build root directory.
(Of course as nothing got set up error messages don't find rexx.cat and
the like, but nevertheless...)

Tried to create an archive which contains the files needed for
distribution using the Makefile's target named "package", which yields a
650 MB large tgz file, which seems to be a little bit too big...

The "dist-" targets seem to create the source archives only.

The only target that would contain the "macosx"-related scripts from the
ooRexx platform directory in the Makefile is a target named
"install-exec-local".

Is there another target that could be used (or created with the autconf
tools) to create an archive containing the Rexx binaries (executables,
libraries and supporting files) for MacOSX by any chance?

Any hints, suggestions how to proceed from here on are highly appreciated!

Short of anything else, would it be o.k. to use "install-exec-local" and
then search all the pieces to create an archive by hand? If so, what
pieces should I look for and how can I cleanly de-install such a locally
installed ooRexx?

TIA,

---rony
