The ooRexx development team is announcing the availability of the April
update to the ooDialog 4.2.0 (beta r6887) on SourceForge.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/oorexx/files/ooDialog/
r6887 contains a number of fixes for minor bugs found internally, good
progress on the documentation, and several new samples demonstrating the new
features in ooDialog 4.2.0.
Remember, using and working with ooDialog 4.2.0 now, will give you the
chance to influence the final release. If you find things you do not like,
or would like to see done differently, you can still get those changes
made. Once ooDialog 4.2.0 is released, the new features will be set in
stone.
ooDialog 4.2.0 will be the next major release of ooDialog. The release
contains new dialog classes, new dialog controls, new methods, context
menus, enhanced functionality, and much more. The beta version is being
ddistributed through a technology currently called 'Switch ooDialog.'
The Switch ooDialog package installs an application that easily and
transparently switches the active version of ooDialog, in the ooRexx
installation, between two different ooDialog versions. In this case between
ooDialog 4.2.0 and the ooDialog version (4.1.0) distributed with ooRexx
4.1.0.
Because of the ease of use with Switch ooDialog, the ooDialog programmer
runs no risk in using and working with ooDialog 4.2.0 (beta.) Once
installed, the ooDialog programmer can switch to ooDialog 4.2.0 to try it
for a day, an hour, or even 10 minutes, then switch back to ooDialog 4.1.0.
Switch ooDialog operates like a toggle and the user can switch back and
forth between the two ooDialog versions at any time, as often as needed.
