As you may know, one part of the BSF4ooRexx support is making ooRexx available
as a macro language
for OpenOffice/LibreOffice. Also there is special OpenOffice programming
support in form of a Rexx
package named "UNO.CLS", which makes it relatively easy for Rexx programmers to
use the
OpenOffice/LibreOffice APIs.
As a matter of fact ooRexx becomes a "first citizen programming and macro
language" for
OpenOffice/LibreOffice use with the help of BSF4ooRexx!

OpenOffice is now an Apache Software Foundation "incubator" project and it
looks like it is becoming
a "regular" project. The name is "Apache OpenOffice (AOO)".
One consequence of donating the source code by Oracle to ASF is that quite a
few companies and
organizations have become interested to support AOO by donating/supplying their
developed
technologies, like IBM which contributes much of Symphony to AOO.
Enclosed you'll find a public posting of Hongyun An, who announces the opening
of UOF, which is
extremely important to the Chinese world.
UOF-support will cause much more need for Unicode support in the future, of
course, hence this
information as it would be quite important, if ooRexx would become able to
natively employ Unicode.
Using BSF4ooRexx alleviates this "Unicode-pressure", but still, in todays world
it is really
important to gain native Unicode support for a programming language.

Now I am serving for the China Standard Software Co.,Ltd(CS2C).
We are going to open the UOF2.0 source codes which are researched for years
based on OpenOffice.
Until now We have send the SGA and the SGA from China Standard Software Co, Ltd
has been
filed in the Apache
Software Foundation records.
Now let me tell you what UOF2.0 is and how important it is.
As a Chinese document format,UOF(Unified Office document Format) describes
the document format structure basing on
the W3C XML Schema,using Chinese character tags.Now UOF has a wide range of
applications.In
China,many departments
use the UOF as the compatibility format.
UOF2.0 is improved more greatly than UOF1.1. It has a better structure,
which is multi-file structure,including uof.xml,
meta.xml,context.xml,chart.xml,graphics.xml,rules.xml and so on. And
UOF2.0 unifies the definition of the public properties,
supports the multi-language.
Until now we have achieved reading and writing the UOF2.0 documents by
modifying the OpenOffice source codes and the
style sheets.
