I don't have time to take a look at fixing this this morning, but on a
quick glance, this appears to be a problem in the test case. The test
case has its own implementation of datatype and it compares its results
against the interpreter's. This needs to be updated for the fact the
parser now recognizes tabs as whitespace in hex strings.
