Folks, I have a possible "opportunity" that might allow the introduction of ooRexx as an application scripting language to several hundred independently owned windows system owners using WIN-7 thru WIN-10 that are scattered throughout the USA SouthEastern area of the U.S.A. There is a remote possibility of my application expanding into many more installations (and/or additional applications) if the test project is successful. The majority of the owners of these systems are not programmers, but are well trained, licensed, Amateur Radio Operators.
I am not familiar with the creation of an installation package for windows, and am looking for information with recommendations on how to create a single, but complete installation package for both ooRexx V5 and ooSQLite.
Information on how to handle these two apps will probably expand into including other ooRexx facilities as well. It is important that a single install package be created, because if the installation appears to be difficult, nothing will happen. Therefore, it is not practical for me to recommend that the users do three separate downloads and installs: one for ooRexx, a second one for ooSQLite, and a third for my application.
While I have been using ooRexx for quite a few years now, I am not aware of exactly what directories are being used to support the two packages. I know that "we" are using an automated process to create the standard distribution packages, but I am not aware of where that information might be maintained, or even if the information is even available to folks outside the actual development teams.
The time frame for this opportunity is relatively short, and I'm afraid that I might run out of time before I have found everything that I need to know by myself. Any information that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
My application will be distributed to the majority of the target group as a tokenized ooRexx app, but the original source will be available to those who have some programming experience and who request a copy.
