I know well how that goes. The bank's former beautiful Application Server Architecture (developed in C) which utilized ooRexx as its custom development language... that architecture when upgraded to faster hardware became unstable and started crashing. The vendor did not know what to do. They brought in Microsoft consulting, they added "calls to Sleep sprinkled in the source code" and the Application Server Architecture became stable again.

Deja vu.... Memory lane of likely 20 years ago.
