Just returned to my PC from the symposium, some brief infos.
The meeting took place and was attended by (in alphabetical order by last name) Gil Barmwater, Josep
Maria Blasco, Rony G. Flatscher, Mark Hessling, René V. Jansen, Marc Reims, Till Winkler, Jon
Wolfers. It was carried out formally in a round-robin fashion, with each round centered on another
theme. All Rexx languages (Regina, ooRexx, NetRexx, cRexx) were represented and got addressed.
A few infos/idea (a more complete protocol will be created for those who attended, may take a short
while due to missing resources):
* signing for packages
* add full Unicode UTF-8 support
* check, correct, and complete terminology
* set of Claude skill definitions for ooRexx
* standardized math libraries
* add b2c() and b2d() BIFs
* go routines and early reply
* closures
* go command, early reply
* make sure all of Mark's external Rexx function packages work with ooRexx,
allow Regina's
callback API to work with ooRexx (would make DW/Rexx GUI usable for ooRexx,
and more)
* additional syntax highlighting in/for popular highlighters
* IDE's Language server protocol (LSP) support for ooRexx, cRexx, maybe based
on Marc Reims' new
implementation for NetRexx
* update ooDialog or create a portable replacement for it, possibly with
WxWidgets.org
* define VM with ooRexx and a web interface to it
Add support for this group:
* create a github developer list for this group
* meet quarterly via Zoom etc., let skip if not necessary
o meeting day of week: Wednesday
o meeting time of day: 11:30 AM CET (Central European Time)
o tentative: Wednesday, August 12th, 11:30 AM CET
Again, there was more discussed, this is just a brief report for this group. All participants
thought the meeting constructive and helpful.
