Mostly wanting to feel comfortable that I could gracefully end the 
application when an unexpected/unchecked error occurred.  I agree
with your comments in that the coding errors should be seen and
corrected during the coding/testing and not during the usage of
the application.  I am used to classic Rexx where the signal statement
could be used for this, but really should not be needed.
