Many thanks for this explanation, Mark. It all makes sense, even if the doc
probably miss some hints on 'unconnected' roots, but who could imagine that
users like me would come along? :)
I will add a real root. If you want to include an extra start-from
parameter that's fine, I can think of situations where it could be useful.
