Can you show your class definition for the dialog that contains the tree
view and tool tip involved, the tool tip creation / set up code, and the
call to manageAtypicalTool()

It looks like the toolTip arg is not a tool tip.
How often, approximately, does this happen? Once every 3 times you run the
program, every 50 times, every ...?
If there is any way you can send me a program that exhibits
this behavior it would help.
